This is a village in Alsace, France. It's the first stop on a 170 km string of roads known as the Route de Vins (Wine Road). Over 100 untouched, perfect little medieval villages. Vinyards on the mountainsides. Old, ruined, castles of the Teutonic Knights. Hidden away in valleys, almost untouched by the devastation of the 30 Years War.

I would love to have a vacation house in one of those small villages.

Btw. it's ironic you felt an emotional response to this area. This is what Disneyland was based on! I meant to send you the webpage that mentioned it. It even had the name of the specific village that Disney was driving through and was thunderstuck by the charm of it.
